Celebrate National Women's History Month

Gerda Lerner, author of Women and History (1986; 1993) said "When I started working on women's history about thirty years ago, the field did not exist. People didn't think that women had a history worth knowing."

The study of women's history is still a new field. It was the women's movement of the sixties that contributed to the efforts to look at the contribution of women in history and strive to pull women from second class status.

Thanks to the efforts of many unheralded and prominent women, many political, educational and social advances have become possible and more barriers are being toppled.

Thanks for your suggestion about acknowledging National Women's History Month with a gift basket design. Every month, The Gourmet Retailer Magazine includes a promotional calender that lists national holidays and events that can be celebrated with a beautiful gift basket.
