Girl Scouts Stir Up More Than Just Cookies This Year

How can the simple act of selling Girl Scout cookies have risen to the level of hard news?
Well, for one thing, selling Girl Scout cookies is no longer a simple act. In their 90th year of business and with a sales team of over 2.7 million, it's no surprise that some groups offer intense sessions in marketing, selling and business skills for their 11 and up girls. In Sacramento, CA Merrill Lynch a one-day cookie college with seminars such as "Entrepreneur 101" and "Creative Marketing."
With all that money being made it's not surprising that some troop leaders just couldn't resist raiding the cookie jar. A Minnesota former Girl Scout troop leader will have 30 days in jail to think about her conviction of theft and figure out where she'll get the $4,000 in restitution.
And in case you're not jazzed up about Girl Scout cookies, you can win a year's supply of them if you can guess how many Girl Scout cookies are in the Honda Civic at Orr Honda in Texarkana.
Hurry. The Confier Council is accepting guesses until March 11.
In the meantime, if you're looking for great cookies for your baskets (other than Girl Scout cookies) find lots of sources in Savor It! our directory of over 100 gourmet food and beverage wholesalers in the US.

Cookies are one of a few best sellers in my baskets.
I choose chocolate chip or shortbread more often then other flavors because that's what my clients prefer.
Clients complete surveys at least once a year, and that's how I make sure they still enjoy the flavors chosen for their baskets.
I can't pass up Girl Scout cookies. They are tasty. I have no problem adding a box or two to my baskets. If the client's paying, I'm buying.
